Download and Upload Jar to Google Drive

The Sisense Google Drive connector is a certified connector that allows you lot to import data from the Google Drive API into Sisense via theSisense generic JDBC connector. The Google Drive connector offers the most natural way to connect to Google Drive data, including Team Drives, and provides additional powerful features.

The support for the connector is provided by Sisense and will be assisted past the certification partner'due south back up, if needed. For any support issues or additional functionality requests, contact your Sisense representative or open up a request through the Sisense Help Center. For advanced inquiries specific to driver functionality, you can also contact the certification partner's support directly via back up@cdata.com.

Afterward you have downloaded the driver, you can connect through a connection cord. The connection cord is used to authenticate users who connect to the Google Drive. Once you lot have connected to Google Drive, you tin can import a variety of tables from the Google Drive.

This page describes how to download the Google Drive commuter and deploy it, how to connect to Google Drive with a connexion string, provides information most the Google Drive data model, and more.

Note:

For the list of supported connectors, see Introduction to Data Sources.

Downloading the Google Drive JDBC Driver

You can download the Google Drive JDBC driver here.

For a brusk video of downloading the driver, meet below (the video uses the Box driver as an example).

Note:

  • The driver is certified for Sisense v7.ii and in a higher place.
  • Sisense v7.4 and above: Click the above link to download a ready-to-employ driver.
  • Sisense prior to v7.4: Click the to a higher place link to download a xxx-days free-trial of the commuter. Contact Sisense for the full license version.

Deploying the Google Drive JDBC Driver

Prerequisite: The install file (setup.jar) is a Java Application that requires Java vi (J2SE) or above to run.

To install the driver, double-click the setup.jar file and proceed with the instructions in the installation wizard.

Depending on the machine on which yous are accessing the Sisense application, install the driver in ane of the following locations:

  • When Sisense is installed on your local car, deploy the commuter locally.

  • For a non-local installation (when accessing Sisense on a remote Windows server, or accessing the Sisense hosted deject surround), select one of the below methods:

    • Deploy the driver on the Sisense server machine, and and then perform all the authentication on the server machine.
      OR
    • Deploy the driver on your local machine (or any other auto, as user-friendly), perform all the authentication on that machine, and then copy the JAR file to the remote server. For detailed instructions, run into here.
  • If you lot are on a Linux deployment , deploy the commuter on your local machine (or any other machine), perform all the authentication on that machine, and then re-create the JAR file to this location: /opt/sisense/storage/connectors/jdbcdrivers/driver_name_folder. For detailed instructions, run across here.

Note:

The default location of the JAR file: C:\Programme Files\CData\CData JDBC Commuter for <Commuter Proper noun> 2019\lib

For a short video of the procedure, meet below (the video uses the Box commuter as an example).

Coffee Troubleshooting

If you practise not take Java half dozen installed, you may download it from here.

If your system is non set to run Java applications, execute the post-obit command: java -jar setup.jar.

Connecting to Google Bulldoze

To access Google Bulldoze REST API from Sisense, yous must create the connection string to be used in Sisense.

To create the connectedness cord:

  1. Open the lib directory for the connector. This is the default path: C:\Programme Files\CData\CData JDBC Commuter for <Driver Name> 2019\lib

  2. Double-click the jar file in the lib directory.

Alternatively, to open up the jar file from the command line, enter the following command in the command prompt (change the commuter name to your commuter): cd C:\Programme Files\CData\CData JDBC Commuter for <Commuter Name> 2019\lib. Printing Enter and so enter the post-obit command (change the driver name to your commuter): "C:\Programme Files\Sisense\infra\jre\bin\java.exe" -jar cdata.jdbc.<Driver Name>.jar

    Printing Enter once again.

    For example:

    The Connection String Architect opens.

  3. Click in the Value column of the Initiate OAuth property and select GETANDREFRESH .

  4. Click Test Connexion.

  5. A browser window opens where you demand to log in to your application in order to grant access. (Each application will display a different window and messages.)

Close the Authorization Successful! message that opens.

  6. Go back to the Connexion String Builder dialog and click OK in the Test Connection Successful message to close it.

  7. Click Copy to Clipboard to obtain the connectedness string.

For a short video of the procedure, run across below (the video uses the Box commuter every bit an example).

The commuter uses embedded credentials that originate from a OAuth App embedded into the driver. The embedded credentials provide full functionality, so you do not have to create an OAuth App.

Note:

If you desire to configure the authentication or limit the scope of the data provided to Sisense, you will need to create your own OAuth App. For details, come across here.

You need to follow the higher up instructions only once, to retrieve the Access and Refresh tokens. Once the tokens accept been retrieved, the driver will be refreshing them in the background when they elapse, with no further involvement from you lot.

To help you create a connection string and test the connexion, run into Connectedness String Architect for Certified Connectors.

If y'all accept whatsoever issues connecting to your data source, see Troubleshooting JDBC Data Connectors.

Calculation Google Drive Tables to your ElastiCube

  1. Open Sisense.

For a non-local installation, open Sisense on the hosted cloud environs.

  2. In the Data page, open an ElastiCube or create a new ElastiCube.

For a non-local installation, open Sisense on the hosted cloud environment.

  3. In the Model Editor, click data_btn.png; the Add together Information dialog box is displayed.

  4. Click Generic JDBC to open the JDBC settings.

  5. In Connexion String , paste the string you obtained above. When you exercise and so, the cord is appended with some _persist backdrop. The following is an example of the connexion string as it looks in Sisense:

    jdbc:googledrive:Initiate OAuth="GETANDREFRESH";_persist_oauthexpiresin=3199;_persist_token_timestamp=1561893244662;_persist_oauthaccesstoken=mswNfVDVpnBZc3pkQQja7WRHNebbaGZL;_persist_oauthrefreshtoken=ybofHX3Vrd7C8cPhE5ZysVxFiUmkJSiw2htjPL0nKDBgpqjcyGP6Am7KNaDzqhZz;

  6. In JDBC JARs Folder , enter the name of the directory where the Google Drive JAR file is located (run across Deploying the Google Bulldoze JDBC Driver).

  7. In Driver's Class Name , enter the post-obit grade proper name: cdata.jdbc.googledrive.GoogleDriveDriver.

  8. Leave the User Proper noun and Password blank.

  9. Click Adjacent. A list of tables in the database are displayed. All tables and views associated with the database volition appear in a new window.

  10. From the Tables list, select the relevant table or view you lot want to work with. Y'all can click side by side to the relevant table or click Preview to see a preview of the information inside it.

  11. (Optional) Click + to customize the data you lot want to import with SQL. See Importing Data with Custom Queries for more information.

  12. After you have selected all the relevant tables, click Washed. The tables are added to your data model.

For a brusque video of the process, run across below (the video uses the Box commuter as an example).
